Zillah Morris Deggs, 88, of Woodville, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2024.
Born in Lufkin, Texas to Sam and Mollie Morris, she was raised in many areas due to her father's work as an evangelist. She married the love of her life, Alton Deggs and they settled down in Vidor, Tx where they raised their children. She owned and operated Merle Norman Studio in Vidor, Texas for fifteen years. After retiring, she and Alton traveled and enjoyed a retired life. They settled in Kerrville, where they lived out their lives. Zillah moved to Woodville three years ago to be closer to family.
Zillah was preceded in death by her father, Sam Morris, mother, Mollie Million Morris and her husband, Alton Deggs.
She is survived by her loving children: son Jeff Deggs of Woodville; daughter Angela Deggs Spence of Victoria; sister Zelma Morris Francis of Port Arthur; grandchildren Diana Diedrich of San Augustine, FL, Chase Deggs of Arlington, Chad Spence of Victoria, and Chance Spence of Victoria; a great-grandson Dalton Diedrich of San Augustine, FL, and many other family members and friends.
Cremation services are held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home, Woodville, Texas.
