Yazmina Cormier, 60, passed away March 25, 2023.
Born in Cartagena, Colombia, she lived in Warren for many years. She met and married Dale Cormier thirteen years ago and knew he was the one for her. She was especially proud working hard to gain her American citizenship. Yazmina was the Spanish teacher for Warren ISD where she taught that through hard work your dreams and goals could be accomplished like she did when she gained her citizenship. She was loved and respected not only by her peers but by her students. She loved each young person who graced the doors of Warren High School as her own and not only taught but had a momma protection and love which each student felt though the guidance and protection she radiated for each one.
Yazmina was preceded in death by her father, Manuel Estaban Rocha Barraza and mother, Ana Virginia Rios Rocha.
She is survived by the love of her life, Dale Cormier; brother, Manuel de Jesus Rocha Rios; step daughter, Danielle Cormier; mother-in-law, Betty Latorre; the staff of Warren ISD and the many students who she called her own.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at 3 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 2 pm until 3 pm at the funeral home.
