Wilson "Sonny" Joseph Nicholas

Wilson “Sonny” Joseph Nicholas, Jr., 82, of Spurger, passed away September 1, 2021. He was born November 30, 1938 in Beaumont, to the late Wilson Joseph Nicholas, Sr. and Edna Mae Carter Nicholas.

Sonny was raised in Beaumont, Texas where he graduated from South Park High school. He served 6 Years with the US Navy before coming back home and attending Lamar Technical College. After graduating Lamar Technical College’s plumbing program he spent the rest of his working career in the trade. He started his own business in 1987 until his retirement in 2013. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time with his family and watching Cowboys football games with a bowl of Blue Bell ice cream.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy Nicholas of Spurger; sons, Gregory Nicholas and wife Andrea of Austin, Randall Nicholas of Spurger; stepson, Raymond Welch of Houston; grandson, Daniel Nicholas of The Woodlands; sister, Barbara Roberts of Port Neches; brothers, Jerry Nicholas and wife Kay of Oklahoma City, Jack Nicholas and wife Carolyn of Vidor; and numerous other family members and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, September 5, 2021, 2pm at Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday, September 4, 2021 from 1pm until 3pm at Riley Funeral Home.
