William Roy Mitcham, 79, of Woodville passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 6, 2023.
Born in Woodville, Texas to William and Ruby Mitcham, he lived in Tyler County all of his life who retired as a pipefitter. Roy enjoyed riding motorcycles and always had a smile on his face. He was a member of Shady Grove Church where he served his Lord and Savior with an open heart. Roy especially loved his family and cherished the time with each one of them.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, William Mitcham and Ruby Thompson Mitcham; wife, Bea Mitcham and son, Jerry “Toe Joe” Mitcham and sister, Rosie Keef.
He is survived by his son, Terry Mitcham and Cathy Martin of Woodville; girlfriend, Carol Vaughn of Colmesneil; brother, Johnny Mitcham and wife, Evonne of Woodville; sister, Laverne Pierce of Houston; grandchildren, Heather Mitcham of Houston, Ashley McGowan and husband, Jared of Colmesneil and Kent Mitcham and wife, Merrick of Woodville; great grandchildren, Nate Ebach, Will Mitcham, Makenzie McGowan and Makayla McGowan; and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday, February 10, 2023, at 2 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Michael Kane officiating. Burial will follow at the Shady Grove cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 9, 2023, from 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kent Mitcham, Jared McGowan, TJ Odom, Jimmy Glen Odom, James Courville, Todd Vaughn and Nate Ebach. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Foster Harris.
