Velma L Wilson

Velma Louise Wilson, 71, passed away January 2, 2020.

Born in Galveston, Texas to the late William and Jennie Freeman Ard, she lived most of her life in Spurger before moving to Lumberton ten years ago.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew and loved her.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents, son, John Benton and a daughter, Tina Welch.

She is survived by her husband, Allen Wilson of Lumberton; sister, Helen Hutto of Town Bluff; daughters, Marie Willis and husband, Robert Willis, Jr. of Colmesneil, Becky Ramirez and husband, Migual of Colmesneil; son, Michael Benton and wife, Tabitha of Spurger; grandchildren, Richard Knappick, Dustin Willis, Sandra Ramirez Baker, Joshua Ramirez, Gabriel Benton, Isabella Benton, Rosaleigh Benton, John D. Benton, Naomi Benton, Kevin Welch, Kerry Welch and Kelly Welch and seventeen great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Monday, January 6, 2020, at 3 pm at the  River Acres Chapel, 272 CR 4445, Spurger, Texas 77660.
