Thomas “George” Thurman Jordan of Woodville, Texas, passed away in the early hours of Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
George was born in Camden, Texas, on January 29, 1942, and raised in Livingston, Texas. He served bravely for his country in the US Navy for 20 years and then retired. He loved spending time with his family and traveling with his wife, Sue, by his side.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Coker Jordan; mother, Luella English Jordan; stepmother, Pauline Jordan; and a sister, Gloria Jean Jordan.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Carolyn Sue Jordan; daughter, Karen Kay Piatek and husband, Stanley; son, Thomas Thurman Jordan, Jr.; grandchildren, Amanda N. Aswell and husband, Bradley, Eric D. White, Liberty K Goins and husband, Justin and Dallas C. Jordan; step granddaughter, Erica Smith; great grandchildren, Hailey R. White, Brandon D. White, Bryce E. Aswell, Elliott Goins and Levi Goins; step great grandchildren, Jayden Rojas and Savanna Rojas; sister, Almedia Ann Dawson and husband, Clarence and a host of other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodville Methodist Church, with burial to follow at the Center Grove Cemetery in Polk County. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1 pm until the time of the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Jordan, Jr., Brandon White, Stanley Piatek, Dallas Jordan, Brad Aswell, and Justin Goins.
