Ruben Chavez Jimenez, 56, of Colmesneil, passed away February 23, 2026.

Ruben Chavez Jimenez passed away on February 23, 2026. Born in Lubbock, Texas, on June 28, 1969, to Erineo and Guadalupe Jimenez, he lived in East Texas for many years. Ruben loved God and his family. Ruben was a husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be remembered for his kindness and compassion for all of those God put in his path.

Ruben was preceded in death by his mother, Guadalupe Chavez Jimenez, his father, Erineo Paiz Jimenez, brothers, Robert Jimenez, Daniel Jimenez, Ernest Jimenez, and Rudolfo “Rudy” Jimenez, and granddaughter, Kya June Soape.

He is survived by his wife, Tammy Fort Jimenez; daughters Rebekah Anne Jimenez, Emily Nicole Soape, and husband Brian Lloyd Soape II; grandson, Kobi Nash; brothers Erineo Jimenez Jr., Jaime Jimenez, and Alberto Jimenez; sisters Ilda Martinez and Delia Trevino; and a host of family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Colmesneil, Texas.  Visitation will be held on Saturday from 12 pm until 2 pm at the funeral home.
