Ricky Jenkins Obituary

Ricky Lynn Jenkins, 62, of Woodville passed away July 30, 2025.

Ricky was born on March 31st, 1963, in Kountze, Texas, and spent his life rooted in the love and strength of family and faith. He made his home in Woodville, Texas, where he built a life of hard work, devotion, and giving — a life that touched so many of us here today.

A loving husband, a devoted father, a proud grandpa, and a truly selfless soul Ricky truly loved his family.. While we grieve his passing, we also rejoice in knowing that Ricky is now resting peacefully in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ—the one who he loved first and trusted with all his heart.

Ricky was a provider in every sense of the word. He spent his entire life working to ensure that his family never went without. Whether times were good or tough, Ricky made sure his loved ones were cared for. He didn't just provide in material ways — he gave his time, his energy, his heart. He was a giver, through and through, and he put everyone else before himself, every single time.

He was the kind of man who didn’t need recognition. His joy came from seeing his family safe, happy, and loved. Even in his final days, Ricky wasn’t thinking of himself — he was thinking of his family. One of the last things he said was a reminder to his children: “Take care of your mama.” That was Ricky — always thinking about others, always putting love into action.

To know Ricky was to know kindness, loyalty, and quiet strength. His heart was bigger than words could ever express. He was a sweet, giving, and loving soul who carried the weight of others without complaint — who sacrificed with grace and without expectation.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father Boyd Jenkins, his mother Jean Marie Jenkins, his brothers Michael Boyd Jenkins, Christopher Lloyd Jenkins, and Jim Allen Jenkins. We find comfort in knowing he is reunited with them now.

He is survived by so many who loved him dearly — his wife, Cindy Jenkins, who stood beside him through every season of life; his son Blake Jenkins; his daughter Sara Abshere and son-in-law Kirby Abshere; his brothers Tommy Jenkins (and wife Janet), and Jody Jenkins (and wife Tammy); his brother by heart, Brent Brown; his sisters Rebecca Ward (and husband Robert), and Amanda Granger (and husband Mike). And of course, his treasured grandchildren — Aubree Lynn, Kynlee Elizabeth, Raylee Kay Gayle, and his granddaughter by heart, Ariana Nichole Nobles. And many cousin's Aunt uncles nieces and nephews

Ricky’s legacy will live on in all of them — in their laughter, in the way they love each other, in the strength and selflessness they carry forward. He also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles who were touched by his quiet but powerful presence.

To Ricky, family wasn’t just important — it was everything. As we grieve his passing, we also celebrate the deep and lasting impact he had on our lives. He taught us what it means to show up, to give without hesitation, and to love The Lord, Jesus Christ.

Though Ricky may no longer be with us in body, his spirit remains deeply rooted in the hearts of all who knew him. His love will echo in every family gathering, every memory shared, every lesson passed down.

May we honor his life by living the way he did — putting family first, loving generously, and never hesitating to be there for one another.
