Richard “Bugs” Weeks, Jr, 76, of Colmesneil passed away February 25, 2022.
Born June 10, 1945 in Beaumont, Texas to Richard B. Weeks, Sr. and Ethel Aileen Weeks, he lived in Tyler County all of his life. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and retired as a heavy equipment operator. Bugs was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting with his dogs and fishing. He enjoyed going and supporting his grandsons and their many sporting events. They knew when it was hunting season their PawPaw would be in the woods enjoying his time with family and friends but knew that he loved them very much.
Bugs was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Bryant Weeks, Sr. and Ethel Aileen Riley Harris; sister, Patricia Fortenberry and brother, George “Skippy” Weeks.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Dawn Annette Weeks and Katrina Weeks Barr and husband, Charles; grandchildren, Zackary Allen Hermsen and wife, Allie and Zane Bryant Hermsen; a great granddaughter, Lily Katherine Hermsen; brothers, Robert Brock and wife, Ella and Ronnie Weeks and wife, Janice; sister-in-law, Vickie Jane Weeks; brother-in-law, Kenneth Fortenberry; and a host of other family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 10 am at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel.
