Rhonda Faye Reid

Rhonda Faye Reid passed away peacefully on January 9, 2022.  She was born on July 20, 1946 in Nederland, Texas.  She graduated from Nederland High School and attended Port Arthur College where she earned her Secretarial degree.  She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, #462, since September 29, 2003 and an endowed member since 2004.

Rhonda was working at Warren Refrigerator & Manufacturing Co., Inc. in Beaumont when she was introduced to the love of her life, Thomas Reid.  They were married on May 15, 1976 at the First Baptist Church in Nederland, Texas.  They lived in Houston where Rhonda worked for Southwestern Bell until she retired.

She and Thomas bought a home in Woodville that they loved and enjoyed.  They enjoyed camping, listening and playing Blue Grass Music, and spending time with family.  Thomas passed away in 2003 after twenty-seven years of marriage.

Rhonda loved everyone and came to the aid of her friends and family no matter the circumstance.  She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her 17 month-old great nephew, Logan McGee.

Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, Jodie and Wilma Hallmark, husband, Thomas Reid and her brother-in-law, Alan McGee.

She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Lee Hallmark of Beaumont, Deborah Ann McGee of Lumberton, Tonie Havard and husband, Marion of Town Bluff; sister-in-law and best friend, Tonna Walker of Jasper; nieces, Tara Rosales of Beaumont, Samara Rosales, Kim Shellhammer and husband, Terry of Jasper, Jessica McGee of Beaumont; nephews, Keith Litchfield and wife, Karol of La Belle, Kris Litchfield and wife, Donna of Nederland, Chad McGee and wife, Michelle of Porter; aunts and uncle, Linda and Don Surratt of Lumberton and Betty Holland of Houston; cousins, Joyce Pollard of Rogers, Ark, Donean Surratt of Lumberton, Donald Surratt of Pinewood, Dianne Chimura of Houston and Randy Holland of Houston; twenty great and great-great nieces and nephews and many beloved friends.

Funeral service will be held Friday January 14, 2022 at 1 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tom Owen officiating.  Burial will be held at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Colmesneil.  Visitation will be held Friday, January 14, 2022, from 11am until 1 pm at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chad McGee, Keith Litchfield, Johnny Mitcham and Craig Jackson.
