Phyllis Joy Sheffield, 88, of Woodville, Texas, passed away on October 19, 2024, in Houston, Texas.
Phyllis was born September 26, 1936, to Covy and Gladys Renfroe in Denning, Texas. She enjoyed reading, going to church, cooking and was an excellent housekeeper. She was very proud of her family and loved them all very much. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren held a very special place in her heart. In addition to this, kids were drawn to her as she sincerely had compassion for children in general.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Covy and Gladys Renfroe; her husband of many years, Neal W. Sheffield; her son, Seth Sheffield and her brother, Gregory Renfroe.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tish and Bob Cowan of Baytown; grandsons, Kris Cowan and wife, Marcy of Mont Belvieu and Andrew Cowan and wife, Kim, of Huffman; great grandsons, Parker Cowan and Abel Cowan; great granddaughters, Chandlar Cowan and Dorothy Jean Cowan; sisters, Cova Juanice Davis and husband Harlan of Baytown and Anne Stubbefield and husband Richard of Chireno; and brother, Michael Renfroe and wife Linda of Nacogdoches.
Graveside services will be 2 pm, Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Campground Cemetery in Woodville.
Services are held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home, Woodville, Texas.
