Opal Katherine Nichols, age 94, passed away on July 5, 2022, in Katy, Texas.
Katherine was born in Jasper, Texas on June 2, 1928, and lived most of her life in Warren, Texas. The last six years she lived with her daughter Kathy and her family in Katy.
Katherine dearly loved her family and especially her four grandchildren. She often said that her grandchildren kept her young through the years. She was loved by so many including her family and friends. She was one the sweetest and most gracious people to walk this earth and never seemed to meet a stranger, even if they did not speak the same language.
Katherine attended Bethel Baptist Church in Warren, Texas where she was a charter member. She loved her Savior Jesus and loved others with a Christ-like love. She will be greatly missed.
Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Mamie Wilson, her husband, D. C. Nichols and a brother, Tolbert Wilson.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Kathy Stewart and husband, Mark of Katy; granddaughters, Bethany Mor rison and husband, Baker of Katy and Patricia Reynolds and husband, Taylor of Willis; grandsons, Daniel Stewart and wife, Taylor of San Antonio and Matthew Stewart of Katy; and numerous other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 8, 2022, from 5 pm until 8 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 2 pm at the Bethel Baptist Church in Warren with Brother Lynn Riley and Brother Hails Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at the Warren City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Daniel Stewart, Matthew Stewart, Taylor Reynolds, Baker Morrison, Jerald Adams and Richard Evans. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Neff.
