Norris Jean Harrington, 87, of Spurger passed away December 2, 2021.
Born July 17, 1934 in Cow Island, Louisiana to Exalter and Edolia Harrington, Norris was a proud full spirit Cajun. He joined the U.S. Navy retiring after 21 years he then went to work at DuPont retiring as an operator after 10 years of service. He moved to Spurger in 1984 were he embraced the community serving in the Spurger Lions Club, a member of the Snow River Masonic Lodge #315 in Spurger and an Eastern Star member. Norris was an active member of his church, Spurger United Methodist Church, where he could be found volunteering in the many areas that served the Lord and his church family. An avid Astros and Dallas Cowboys fan, he let everyone know how he felt about his teams. Norris never met a stranger, always had a smile on his face and a word of encouragement for everyone.
Norris was preceded in death by his parents, Exalter and Edolia Harrington; wife, Mary Harrington; brother, Camille; sisters, Birdie, Lillia and Lillian; daughter, Tracy Harrington.
He is survived by his brother, Dan Harrington and wife, Shirley; sons, Jeffory Harrington, Ernest Dominguez and Joseph Dominguez; daughter, Theresa Dominguez; grandsons, Jerad Dominguez, Corey Fleener, Logan Harrington, Cole Harrington; granddaughter, Jamie Gurka; eight great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at 11 am at the Spurger United Methodist Church in Spurger, Texas with Rev. John McKissack officiating. Burial will follow at the Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger, Tx. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 pm until 7 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville, Tx.
