Nathan Wayne McGowan was born October 16, 1948 in Beaumont, Texas to Nathan Charles and Jewel Denson McGowan. Wayne was a Christian man who found his strength in God, He used every opportunity he could to bring people closer to Christ Jesus.
Wayne is predeceased by his parents, Buddy and Jewel McGowan, sister, Doris and wife Gail.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Ann Murphey McGowan; brothers, Tom McGowan and wife Charlotte, Dwight McGowan and wife Kristie; sister, Jean Moffett; sons, David Elliott, Nathan Walter and Jared Wayne McGowan and wife Ashley; daughters, Susane Hartman and husband Bill, Kimberly Farias and Husband, James and Amanda Roper and husband Frank; grandchildren, Heather Hooks, Alyssa Kelly, Jesse and Matthew Loupe and wife Haley, Kayleigh, Emilio and Esteban Farias, Makenzie and Makayla McGowan and Nate Ebach; great-grandchildren, Kayden and Kyler Hooks, Jake Kelly, and Ava and Beau Loupe. He considered Daniel Castillo and Madison and Mason Langlanais as his grandchildren too. He leaves numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Keith Moore, Henry Loupe, Jeff Alexander, Dan Smith, Jim Varner, JD La Valley and David Monteaux are just a few of the many friends he made over the years.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022, at 1 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville.
