Mickey D Pilz, 37, of Spurger passed away April 11, 2022.
Mickey was a very happy child and started working early in life by being a baby model and doing print ads in New York City. He was on snow skis from the time he was two years-old and snowboarding big jumps by the time he got to middle school.
Mickey lived in Vidor Texas and was a proud Vidor Pirate. He continued to love all pirates especially Luffy from One Piece. After graduating from high school, Mickey enlisted in the United States Air Force and then on to the Persidioto becoming an Arabic Linguist, where he learned to read, write and speak Arabic. After retiring from the military, Mickey joined his family and loved all his animals on the farm. Many rescue raccoons, a deer, dogs and cats. Most people would say Mickey was quiet and reserved but the truth is he was funny and loved to laugh. We are thankful for those that were able to get inside Mickey’s silly mind to laugh with him. Mickey enjoyed reading, playing guitar and playing video games with friends from high school over the internet.
Mickey is survived by his mother, Robin Gail Wooten; step-father Raymond Wooten; grandmothers, Phylis Cairns and Juanita Wooten; step-brother Matt Wooten; step-brother Mark Wooten and wife Cristi Wooten; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Though Mickey will be missed by his family they look forward to being together in the presence of Jesus one day. As a young kid in church youth group, Mickey learned to share the Gospel of Jesus’ saving grace with all the kids he met. It wasn’t strange at all to hear him talking to neighborhood kids about how they too can know Jesus and have a home in the end.
