Michael “Redneck” Burford was born in Woodville, Texas on May 21, 1982. He passed on May 22, 2022.
Michael is survived by his son, Gage Michael Burford of Orange; mother, Susan Burford Wilson of Warren; his crazy aunt as he called her, Rebecca Simcoe and her husband, Steve, of Huntington; his cousin whom he called sister, Electra Simcoe Rodriguez of Maryland, her husband, Sergio and their daughter, Haloryn.
Other survivors include his wife, Amber Burford, who dropped everything at a moment’s notice to come to his or his family’s aid; his girlfriend, April Roach who has been with him, nursing him during this illness.
He was preceded in death by his dad, L. Michael Burford and his grandparents, T. K. and Jimmie Goolsbee.
Michael leaves behind many close friends in the trucking world. They all knew him as “Redneck”, his CB handle. When he asked to be buried in a pine box, his good friends, Harold “Crash” Yawn, his wife, Kim, James Gordon and Robert Karstedt, went to work and made a casket that Michael would approve of. It’s one of a kind just like he was! Other friends like Curtis and Lacey Flower, were there to help at a moment’s notice.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 28, 2022, at 10 am at the Fellowship Cemetery in Warren with Rev. Grady “Preacher Man” Mobley officiating.
