Melissa Kaye Hill, 50, of Colmesneil passed away September 19, 2021.
Melissa was born October 28, 1970 in Beaumont, Texas to Michel and Donna Flowers. In her younger years, she was a dedicated CNA who loved her patients. She later moved to Colmesneil with her husband, Richard, and three children where they lived for many years. As a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, you would often find her sitting in her recliner with a cold Dr. Pepper in her cup cheering her team on. “Missy” had such a love of life that she taught herself how to do so many things such as drawing, painting, candle making, and much more. She also took pleasure in sitting in her garden every day where she read her bible and talked to God. Where she struggled physically, her faith never failed. She will be so deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
Melissa was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Donna Flowers; grandparents, Pat and Preston Cherry and Robert and Velma Flowers.
She is survived by her loving husband, Richard Hill; children, Michael Sowell and wife, Kenya Sugia, Allison Hill and Emma Hill; sisters, Amanda Redding, Rebecca Flowers and Trina Sims; nieces, Samantha Flowers, Meagen Redding, Chaney Redding and Jennifer Mixon; great niece, Violet Lozano; and many other family members and friends.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 1 pm at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Chester, Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday at Riley Funeral Home from 11 am until 1 pm.
