Mary Etta Fisher

Mary Etta (Dorrough) Fisher, 83, of Kountze, Texas died January 12, 2021. 

She was a native of Paris, Arkansas, but lived in the State of Texas since the age of seven.  She was a member of the Hwy 92 Church of Christ in Silsbee, TX. She was a homemaker, mother, and substitute teacher (for over 30 years). She loved children and spent most of her life working with them as a mother, youth director, Sunday School teacher, church camp teacher, vacation bible school director & teacher, and finally a substitute teacher at Kountze and Lumberton School Districts. 

She is survived by her son, Charles Wayne Fisher Jr., son, Howard Jackson Fisher and his wife Jami, brother, James Jackson Dorrough and his wife Harriet,sister, De Anna Dolan, grandchildren, M. Lance Fisher, Lora K. Schmidt, Michael David Craft Jr., Justin Lee Fisher, Lakin M. Cain along with many loving great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Ovie Dorrough, her mother, Mattie F. Perryjohn Dorrough Poston, and husband, Charles Wayne Fisher Sr.

Services will be Monday, January 18, 2021 at 2:00 pm, graveside, at Colmesneil City Cemetery (East Elder St. Colmesneil, TX).

In lieu of flowers, we would ask for a donation in honor of Mary Etta Fisher be made to Hospice of South Georgia, for their exemplary care, or the Alzheimer's Association in the hope no one else would have to suffer with this disease.
