Mary Amner Jordan Williams, born December 1, 1931, went home to be with the Lord on November 9, 2025. She was a devoted child of God, a loving, supportive, and caring wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, daughter, sister, mother-in-law, aunt, and friend.
On October 31, 1952, she married the love of her life, Jimmie Joe Williams. During their 72-plus year together, they were proud parents of 7 children. Mary not only took care of all their children, but also kept the house in order and was always present to support her husband and her children.
No matter what was thrown her way or how busy she was, Mary always put God first in her life. She and Jimmie ensured all their children knew about the Lord. Although she couldn’t sing, she loved music, especially church hymns. Mary was a dedicated Sunday School Teacher and active church member for over 60 years. The friends Mary made became lifelong friends and support systems for her. She had an honest opinion that she didn’t have problems sharing with you. She had a mischievous sense of humor that often made her laugh at herself. Seriously, Mary was a sincere, rational, loving, and, yes, at times, a quiet person. Anyone who met her loved her.
Mary is survived by her children, Sarah Lou Costa and husband, Ron, David Wayne Williams and wife, Linda, Joe Benjaman Williams, Sr. and wife, Renata, Paul Michael Williams and wife, Sherry, Rebekah Lynn Starr, and Ruth (the Great) Annette Williams; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, her sister, Lottie Jones along with a host of family and friends and her honorary daughter, Robert Pitre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie Joe Williams; parents, Oscar and Addie Jordan; daughter, Cynthia Ann Williams; brothers and sisters-in-law, Horace and Nellie Jordan, J. B. and Susie Jordan, Earl and Ruth Jordan, Newton and Ina Jordan and Henry Joe Jordan, Sr. and her great-grandchild, Emily P. Williams and a great-great grandchild, Wayland Elijah.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2 pm at Beech Creek Baptist Church in Spurger. Burial will follow at the Beech Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 6 pm until 8 pm at Riley Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Cooper, Daniel Williams, Stephen Williams, Moke Costa, Joe Ben Williams, Jr., and Kawika Costa. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mark Williams and James Williams.
