Marilyn Odom McCabe was born on January 11, 1955, in Woodville, Texas to Kenneth and Alice Odom. She graduated from Woodville High School in 1974. After high school, Marilyn married Gordon McCabe in Mesa, Arizona on April 23, 1977. They raised their two boys in Odomville.
Marilyn loved crafting and cooking. She liked to feed everyone from family to friends, and everything, including deer and birds. Marilyn loved being outdoors with her boys. She hunted, fished and traveled around in the camper with Gordon in their retirement years. She cheered on her sons and grandchildren at their sporting events.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved to serve others. Working with the children in Primary was her favorite. Her extended family said she had a heart full of selfless love and compassion.
Marilyn passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Earl Wayne Odom. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, sons Justin (Caryn), and Marcus (Brianne), 8 grandchildren, Hunter, Taylor, Tucker, Austin, Cali, Peyton, Tatum, and Jordyn, siblings Alice Dale Haralson (Joe) and Milton Odom (Betty), and sister-in-law Linda Odom.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 10 am at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Town Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
