Margie Faye Dykes (nicked-named “Bug”), 93, of Colmesneil, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2025 in Jasper, Texas.
Margie was born in Rockland, Texas, to Elias and Eva Ross on May 24, 1932. She enjoyed embroidering, working puzzles, cooking, and baking. She loved her family and never wanted to be a burden to anyone. She had a kind and compassionate heart, as well as a very independent spirit.
Margie was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William Buster Dykes; children, Virginia Marie Dykes and William Bruce Dykes; sister, Vera Marie Ross; and brother, Bobby Ross.
She is survived by her sons, Williford “Danny” Dykes and Larry Dykes, of Colmesneil; daughters, Glenda Sue Lott of Colmesneil and Lois Evelyn Jones and husband, David of Woodville; sisters, Daisy Owens and Barbara Sue Hadden of Colmesneil; special friend, Leeanna Weeks; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, June 20, 2025, from 5 – 7 pm. Funeral services will be 10 am, Saturday, June 21, 2025, all at the Riley Funeral home Chapel in Woodville, Texas. Burial will take place at Kitchen Cemetery in Zavalla, Texas. Officiating will be Brother John Forrest. Serving as pallbearers will be Ted Dykes, Russell Yarbrough, Raymond Follmar, James Henderson, Robert Russell and John Forrest.
Services are held under the direction of Riley Funeral Home, Woodville, Texas.
