Marcia Yvonne Massey

Marcia Yvonne Stenson Massey, 81, of Colmesneil went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 7, 2023.

Born May 28, 1941 in Glenwood, Minnesota, she lived in Alvin, Texas for over 35 years before moving to Colmesneil.  Marcia was a loving mother, wife and grandmother.  She was a member of Tejas Baptist Church, Colmesneil, active in the community served as president of the American Business Women’s Association and was past Worthy matron in the Order of the Easter Star.  Always there to help anyone in need, Marcia became a hospice nurse later in life and worked for over 10 years in home healthcare showing what a truly extraordinary person she was.  She enjoyed doing crafts, from being able to crochet anything you could imagine to oil painting a beautiful scene or making stuffed animals and dolls for kids.  Marcia loved seeing family, taking care of her animals and especially being with her grandkids.

Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Pierce and Muriel Stenson; first husband, J. L. “Pat” Massey; brother, Rick Rickles; daughter-in-law, Alicia Massey and grandsons, Justin Massey and Joshua Massey.

She is survived by her loving husband, William “Bill” Massey; daughter, Marcy Blythe and husband, Les; sons, Jeffery P. Massey and Jimmy Massey and wife, Cindy; stepsons, Keith Massey and wife, Kim, Ted Massey and wife, Erika and Clay Massey and wife, Kristy; brothers, Michael Parker and Pete Stenson; adopted daughter, Donna Gonzales; sisters, Sue Burnes, Vickey Dorgan, Sandy Reinke and Jodie Bolton and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, April 22, 2023, at 1 pm at the Tejas Baptist Church in Colmesneil, Texas.
