Obituary
M. T. “Sonny” Mitchell, Jr., 93 of Vidor passed away March 9, 2023. He was born in Columbia, Tennessee to M. T. Mitchell, Sr. and Bessie Crenshaw Mitchell.
Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, M.T. and Bessie Mitchell; wife, Zelma Spurlock Mitchell and a son, James Graves.
He is survived by his sisters, Dinky Saeler of Hot Spring, Ark and Kay Alexander of Beaumont; grandchildren, Courtney Graves Smith of Willis and Gina Bloss of Vidor; great grandchildren, Danielle Graves, Devin Symmonds, Dustin Symmonds and Preston Smith; nine great, great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at 2 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Chester, Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1 pm until 2 pm at the funeral home.
