Lucy Kathryn Barlow Davis Beaver, 84, of Woodville, went to her eternal resting place on Sunday, December 24, 2023.
She is survived by her children David Davis and wife Jill of Woodville, Janis Cain and husband James of Willis. Surviving grandchildren are Josh Davis, Tara Davis, Misty Davis and husband Dusty Vidrine, and Ashlyn Davis Burns and husband Luke. Great grandchildren are Alex Davis, Addie Vidrine, Morgan Vidrine, and Margot Burns. Also surviving Ms. Beaver is her sister, Joyce Young and husband Maxie of Woodville, several nieces and nephews, and former daughter-in-law Roxanne Davis Gonzalez of Orange. Ms. Beaver was predeceased by her husband Dexter Beaver, parents Joe and Mabel Barlow, brother and sister-in-law Aubrey and Nelva Barlow, son Keith Davis, daughter Sharon Davis, and grandson Brandon Davis and several furry friends who were her adored companions.
Ms. Beaver was a wonderful loving Mother and Grandmother whose love of cooking and family led to many happy gatherings for all who knew her. She enjoyed her social interactions with others, young and old. A fond memory is of her "Pea-Shelling Sleepovers" while her kids were young. When the fresh vegetables were ready from the garden, she would host many neighborhood kids to help her shell the peas, cooking their favorite foods, and making the work process fun. She could be a drill sergeant when needed, shepherding four kids in and out of a one bathroom home to get to church and school on time.
She loved to host large gatherings, travel across the US with close friends, and dote on her grandchildren. For most of her adult life, she resided in the Jefferson County area, but she relocated to the Willis/Conroe area around 15 years ago to be near family. Most recently, she was a resident of Woodville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, December 30th at Riley Funeral Home, Woodville, TX with Chaplain Charles Brantley officiating. The family will receive visitors at 2:30PM prior to the service starting at 3:00PM.
Those wishing to memorialize Ms. Beaver are encouraged to make a donation to Olive Branch Hospice (2014 S. Wheeler Street #250, Jasper, TX. 75951) in lieu of flowers.
