Lucy Charlene Norman was born on February 20, 1931 to Pat and Edna Norman in Stone County, Arkansas. She married Irwin Hassig on March 23, 1947. They were married for almost 69 years until Irwin’s death in 2015. The couple lived in Yampa, Colorado where they raised their six children and built a successful logging business. Along with partnering with her husband in the family business, Charlene was a busy homemaker and a loving and nurturing mother. She loved cooking and feeding everyone and especially looked forward to Sunday afternoons when the family would gather to watch the Broncos. She was a true Denver Bronco fan as well as a New York Yankee fan. She was a member of the Yampa Bible Church where she served in many ways including teaching Sunday school.
Charlene passed away on April 22, 2022 in Woodville, Texas. She was 91 years old. Charlene was preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Edna Norman, 3 brothers and her husband, Irwin Hassig. She is survived y her children Cynthia Hassig, Brenda Kirby, Debra (Chuck) Kahn, Terry (Brandy) Hassig, Bobby (Cindy) Hassig and Bradley (Rosa) Hassig, 13 grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the Yampa Bible Church in Yampa Colorado.
