Lola Norine East

Lola Norine East, 92, of Colmesneil passed away November 16, 2019.

Born in Chester, Texas to the late Travis A. and Myrtle Tarver Barnes, she lived in Colmesneil for many years.  She was a beautician and retired as a clerk with the US Post Office.  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew and loved her.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Ray M. Bendy and Gerald G. East. Sr.;  sister, Jewel Kocurek.

She is survived by her sons, Charles Bendy of Colmesneil and Rodney L. Bendy and wife, Melissa of Chester; grandchildren, Jason Bendy and wife, Hollie, Amy Leggett and husband, Colby, Kaleb Bendy, Cooper Bendy, Ray “Bo” Bendy and wife, Wendy, Charles “Clay” Bendy and wife, Jackie, Charla Bendy, Scott Eddins and wife, Kelly, Stephanie Anthony and husband, Clint; numerous great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at 2 pm at the First Baptist Church in Colmesneil with Brother Larry Trest officiaitng.  Burial will follow at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Chester.  Visitation will be held Monday from 5 pm until 8 pm at Riley Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be David Barnes, Cooper Bendy, Kaleb Bendy, Bo Bendy, Clay Bendy and Jason Bendy.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Gerald Gill, Scott Eddins, Kent Barnes, Kenneth Dale Powell, Keith Powell and Brandon Powell.
