Lois Marie Thompson, 75, of Chester passed away September 27, 2024.
Born July 30, 1949 in Camden, Texas to Marvin and Johnnie Riley, she lived in Chester most of her life. She retired from Georgia Pacific and owned and operated T’s Tax Service. Lois enjoyed hunting and fishing but her true love was her family. Her greatest loves called her “Nannie,” whom she adored and treasured.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Johnnie Marie Riley; son, Eric Jason Hubbard; grandson, Marshall Hubbard; brothers, Johnny Riley and Curtis Riley.
She is survived by her loving husband, Willie C. Thompson; son, Hal Hubbard, Jr and wife, Janie of Corrigan; daughter, Julie Hubbard of Corrigan; grandchildren, Matthew Hubbard and wife, Lauren of Corrigan, Jessica Osborne and husband, Tyler of Rockhill, SC, Jacy Scarborough and husband, Lawrence of Diboll; great-grandchildren, Hadilyn and Hartleigh Hubbard of Corrigan, Ellie, Emerie, River and Endy Osborne of Rock Hill, SC, Jacen and Layten Scarborough of Diboll; brother, Bobby Riley of Etoile; mother-in-law, Gladys Thompson of Chester; brother-in-law, Louie Thompson, Sr. of Chester; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Sandra Thompson of Chester; lifelong friend, Doris Thayer; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Friday, October 4, 2024, at 10:30 am at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Chester. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Hubbard, Tyler Osborne, Lawrence Scarborough, Jake Thompson, Chuck Thompson and Carson Thompson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will Louie Thompson, Jr., Tom “Peanut” Riley, Bobby Riley, Jacen Scarborough, River Osborne, Layten Scarborough and Chandler Berry.
