Lester "Moe" Spivey Obituary

L.M. “Moe” Spivey was born December 31, 1925 in Sour Lake, Texas to Alonzo and Delia Spivey and crossed the creek into eternal bliss on February 8, 2021 in Shepherd, Texas.  Moe worked in the Oil industry following service in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Moe was married to the love of his life Mary Alice West on February 13, 1958. Moe lived a full life enjoying many pastimes including gardening, hunting, and fishing and generally being outdoors.

Moe is preceded in death by his wife of over 55 years Mary Alice “G” West Spivey and son Kyle Spivey.

Moe is survived by his children, sons Kelly and wife Fran of San Antonio, Keith and wife Stacey of Nashville, Tennessee and daughter Keri Len of Houston, Texas. Grandchildren: Jacob Spivey and wife Melanie of Warren, Texas. Jordan Spivey of Galveston, Texas, Julie Spivey of Colmesneil, Texas, Austin Spivey and Keith Jr. Kevin, and Katherine Spivey of Nashville Tennessee and great-grandchildren Peyton and Charlotte Spivey of Warren. Moe is also survived by sisters Nelda Watson and Grace Naylor and husband Al. Moe is also survived by friends Kevin and Vickie Anderson of Shepherd and their children, Kimberly, Shaun, Kristen, Taylor and Kelby, who he loved liked family. After retirement Moe and G served as foster parents for many years providing a loving home to dozens of children thru the years.

Services will include visitation at Riley’s funeral home on Thursday February 11th from 5-8pm and a graveside service at Mt. Pisgah at 11am Friday. Officiating will be Rusty West and Jacob Spivey.
