Leslie Howard Smith, 83, of Woodville passed away February 8, 2025.
Born in Goose Creek, Texas, he lived in many areas of the United States working for Brown and Root before retiring after 30 years of service to Woodville in 2001. Leslie loved to rock hunt and travel but his happy place was outside on his tractor baling hay or just working to make his home beautiful. He was a strong man who was always smiling and happy.
Leslie had a kind, gentle soul who never met a stranger he didn’t like. He always had a smile on his face, a can-do attitude and a helping hand to anyone who needed help.
Leslie was preceded in death by his father, King Philip Smith; mother, Ethel Mae Barrow Smith; brothers, Robert Smith and Kenneth Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61years, Sharon Wright Smith; children, Travis Smith of Woodville, Keith Smith of Albany, NY and Carrie Lewis of Kountze; four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of other family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 1 pm at the Woodville Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Wintermute officiating.
The family asks for donations to be made to the American Cancer Society in their loved one's name.
