Junia Grimes Obituary

Junia Ann Buxton Grimes, 59, of Woodville, passed away on February 5, 2026.

Born November 18, 1966, in Orange, Texas to Vernon Wayne Buxton and Betty Lou Folks Buxton, Ann spent most of her life as a resident of Orange where she raised her 3 children.

Ann married the love of her life, Steven Grimes on June 5, 2011. Known for her genuine personality and big heart, Ann devoted her life to caring for others with unwavering loyalty. She was vibrant and spontaneous, bringing color wherever she went.

Ann Grimes is preceded in death by her parents Betty Lou Folks Buxton, Vernon Wayne Buxton, stepfather Captain Joseph Roddy, and son Sean Patrick Horton. She is survived by her loving husband Steven Grimes, daughters LaChaitra McCarty and Shayna Lambert, sons in law Christopher McCarty and Charles Lambert, stepdaughters Doey Nelson and Sara Chandler, and their husbands Zachary Nelson and Kyle Chandler. Ann truly loved all of her grandchildren: Brendan, Brady, and Beckett McCarty, Captain and Skylar Jackson, Charles Jr. and Sloane Lambert, Nevaeh Horton, Madelyn Harding, Ruby and Eleanor Horton, Baylee, Blythe, and Sloan Nelson, as well as Ryelee and Aiden Bragg. 

She is also survived by her siblings, Renee Brinson, Todd Buxton, and Sharron Buxton. Ann will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
