Judith Kay Die Haney, 81, died Monday, March 30, 2026, holding the hand of her beloved Sam.
She was a respected member of the Woodville, TX community who impacted so many lives and will be missed every day. She had a rewarding career as a teacher and an Assistant Principal; then a second influential career as the Woodville Municipal Judge for nearly 18 years. Her passion was co-founding our well-known Art District with the Tyler County Art League, Emporium for the Arts theater, Tin Can glass forge, many murals around town, and her dream-come-true clay studio, the Blue Feather.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Ruby (Brown) Die, and many of her cousins.
She is survived by her husband, Samuel Haney, her sisters Beverly Seay (Elwin) and Jann Barnett (Curtis), daughter Dara Lefler, grandsons Ryan Lefler Kuhn (Casey) and Aaron Lefler, her great-grandson James Kuhn, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a world of devoted friends.
We will gather to celebrate her life and love with music, memories, art, and companionship in the Art District on May 1, 2026, which would have been her 82nd birthday, from 3 pm until 9 pm. The viewing to bid her farewell will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 2, in the chapel at Riley Funeral Home, 913 US-190, Woodville, TX 75979.
