Joyce Evelyn Holmes

Joyce Evelyn Holmes,  78, of Warren passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by family on November 17, 2022.

Born in Woodville, Texas to the late Judson and Dora Collier, she lived in Warren most of her life.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew and loved her.  Joyce was married to the love of her life, Paul Holmes, who preceded her in death in 2020.  She enjoyed yard work which included mowing, gardening and tending to her beautiful flowers.  Camping, fishing and deer hunting with family was just a few of the many hobbies that she loved but her heart belonged to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Joyce was the happiest when she was doing for her family and others always putting their needs and wants ahead of her own.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Judson Harmon Collier and Dora Evelyn Jackson Collier; husband of 59 years, Jim Paul Holmes; brothers, Billy Collier and Sonny Collier and a sister, Peggy Tiner.

She is survived by her loving family, children, Curtis Holmes and wife, Michele, Randy Holmes, Cindy Kelley and husband, Clay; grandchildren, Jessica Anderson and husband, Michael, Rusty Holmes, Justin Holmes and wife, Jenny, Aaron Holmes and fiancé, Christian, Brittany Sundgren, Colt Kelley and wife, Eryn, Amber Sturrock and husband, Wade; great grandchildren, Callie Anderson, Hailey Anderson, Mackenzie Holmes, Carter Sundgren, Reese Sundgren, Brooklyn Steele, Braxton Holmes, Myla Kelley, Chloe Kelley, Cooper Kelley, Hank Sturrock and Brody Sturrock; brother, Larry Collier and wife, Barbara; a host of other family members and friends and her beloved dogs, Baby and Blondie and her cat, Oreo.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 2 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Fellowship Cemetery in Warren.  Visitation will be held Tuesday at the funeral home from 12 noon until the time of the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Curtis Holmes, Randy Holmes, Justin Holmes, Aaron Holmes, Colt Kelley and Rusty Holmes.
