Johnnie Lee Edwards, 84, of Woodville passed away peacefully on June 8, 2021.
Born August 18, 1936 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Johnnie A. and Addie Edwards, he lived in Groves for many years. He retired from the Gulf Oil now Chevron as a machinist. After retirement he and his wife, Allie, moved to Woodville where he worked part time at Riley Funeral Home where he was known as the “hearse driver”.
Johnnie is survived by his loving wife, Allie Brian Edwards; daughters, Libby Hebert and husband, Craig and Sherry Healey and husband, Bruce; grandchildren, Jayci Shea and husband, John, Lindsey Paradise and husband, Patrick, Kristy Engel, Melanie Airey and husband, Greg Ingram and Philip Airey and wife, Vicki; ten great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Hebert; and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Monday, June 14, 2021, at 2 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Mark Tolar officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Woodville. Visitation will be held Sunday, June 13, 2021, from 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Craig Hebert, Philip Airey, Patrick Paradise, Bruce Healey,
Terry Riley and Mark Hanks. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Rodger Walley and Keith Hayes.
