John Wesley Smith

John Wesley Smith, 65, of Kirbyville passed away December 26, 2022.

Born in Beaumont, Texas to Wesley Smith and Lillie Ard Smith, he lived in Fred most of his life before moving to Oklahoma and then to Kirbyville.  He loved to run the road picking up junk and as he said “Wheelin and a Dealin’”.  He enjoyed old trains, watching rodeos and fishing.  But he especially loved his family.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley and Lillie Smith; wife, Nancy Ann Christian Smith and a sister, Betty Tiblier.

He is survived by his daughter, Christina Smith and husband, John Berkenstock of Silsbee; granddaughters, Summer and Emma Jean Stephens; brothers, William H. Smith and wife, Melonee of Merryville, Lousiana and Raymond L. Smith and wife, Gaynell of Silsbee; sister, Dortha Jean Cravey of Buna and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 12 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel in Woodville.  Burial will follow at the Beech Creek Cemetery in Spurger.  Visitation will be held Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service.
