John Woodrow Reid

John Woodrow Reid, 65, of Spurger passed away peacefully in his home on January 10th, 2024.

Born in Jasper, TX to Maurice and Mary Jo Reid, he was a lifelong resident of Spurger, TX. John was a great friend, a loving husband, a loving father, adored by family but above all Pawpaw was his favorite title. His favorite things were camping, fishing, buggy riding, and just being outdoors with a host of family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Maurice Woodrow Reid; mother Mary Jo Shavers and grandson Little John Howard Martin.

John is survived by loving wife Peggy Gore Reid; Sons, Thomas Earl Martin and wife Lisa of Spurger, Richard Lee Martin and wife Candy of Dam-B, Anthony Brian Martin and wife Candace of Fred; Grandchildren, Stacy Knight, Tj Martin, Dalton Martin, Lisa Knight, Raven Merimon, Dylan Martin, Richard Earl Martin,  Megan Boutwell, Kimberlyn Jenkins, Dorothy Martin, Crista Martin, 8and 8 great grandchildren; Brothers, Charlie Reid and wife Faye, Jimmy Reid and wife Teresa; Sisters, Mary Ann Herbert and husband Robert, Frances Morrell and husband Mark, Delana Davis and husband Billy.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 11 am at the First Pentecostal Church in Fred, Texas with Pastor Howard Davis and Pastor Arthur Lee Crawford officiating.  Burial will follow at the Fred Community Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Monday, January 15, 2024, from 6 pm until 8 pm at the church.

Pallbearers will be Landon Wren, Trey Holmes, Gralin Dumesnil, Thomas Martin, Tj Martin, Dalton Martin.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dylan Martin and Lane Morris.8759
