JoAn Gremillion Obituary

JoAn Webb Gremillion went to her Lord and Savior on April 8, 2022, in Houston, Texas at the age of 89. She was born on November 11, 1932 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Marie and Joe Webb. She was a registered member of the Chickasaw Nation. She later moved to Lake Jackson, Texas, where she met and married her husband of 62 years, Jim Gremillion.

In the 1960s they moved to Missouri City, Texas where they raised their sons, Bill and Jimmy. They later owned and operated small businesses. Not a fan of heights or flying, she stood back and watched Jim and the boys while they tinkered with their helicopter and airplane, terrified when they took them up. After the boys left home, JoAn and Jim enjoyed going on cruises with friends and family and driving around in their 1957 T-Bird that Jim rebuilt and attending Antique Car Rallies.

JoAn and Jim retired to Ivanhoe, Texas, enjoying the company of Jim's sister for many years, They were faithful members of Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Community, enjoying their church family for meals, games and fellowship. She enjoyed watching Westerns on television. We don't think she ever missed an episode of Gunsmoke.

Above all, she loved having her grandchildren, greats and great greats visiting for holidays and special occasions. She was a giver, and would rather give than receive gifts. A big hug and kiss were the greatest gift she could receive. She was a kind and loving person, but was definitely understood when she disapproved of something.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Marie Sanders and Joe Webb, her oldest son Bill and granddaughter, Lisa Jan. She is survived by her husband, Jim; son, Jimmy; daughter in-law, Leslie; former daughter-in-law, Janice Girard; grandchildren, Edward Prikryl, Misti Gremillion, Lindsey Bartay, Kayla Sorich, and Austin Gremillion, seven great grandchild, two great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. JoAn will be sorely missed by all those whose lives she touched.
