Jimmy Ray “Cooter” Rawls, 76, of Colmesneil passed away November 23, 2024.
Born in Woodville, Texas to Edward and Viola Rawls, he lived in Tyler County all of his life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew and loved him.
He enjoyed all things outdoors, such as fishing and hog hunting. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, Edward Rawls; mother, Viola Stewart Rawls; children, Michelle Rawls, Kimberly Rawls, Gina Rawls, and Robert Jones Rawls; great-grandchild, Ava Rae Heller-Rico.
He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Pierson Rawls; children, Marcus Rawls and wife, Jennifer of Woodville, Kalina Hesskew and husband, Jason of Seguin, Christopher Rawls and wife, Doris of Colmesneil; thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at 3 pm at the Ferrel Cemetery in Colmesneil, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 12 pm until 2 pm a the Riley Funeral Home Chapel.
