Jim Paul Holmes

Jim Paul Holmes, 79, of Warren passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on October 26, 2020.

Born in Warren, Texas to the late Alvie and Hattie Mae Sheffield Holmes, he lived in Warren all of his life.  He was a millwright by trade.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, Paw Paw and friend to all who knew and loved him.  Paul was married to his loving wife for 59 years.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved camping, fishing and deer hunting with his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He loved animals. He was a big and proud man with a big heart. Paul loved to talk and could visit with you for hours. 

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Frances Jordan, Rosie Foxworth, Letty Foxworth, Ruthie Irene Holmes.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Holmes; children, Curtis Holmes and wife, Michele of Warren, Randy Holmes of Lumberton, Cindy Kelley and husband, Clay of Warren; grandchildren, Jessica Anderson and husband, Michael, Rusty Holmes, Justin Holmes and wife, Jenny, Aaron Holmes, Brittany Sundgren and husband, Colby, Colt Kelley and wife, Eryn, Amber Sturrock and husband, Wade; great grandchildren, Callie Anderson, Hailey Anderson, Carter Sundgren, Reese Sundgren, Myla Kelley, Chloe Kelley, Cooper Kelley, Hank Sturrock and Baby Boy Sturrock; sister, Ruby Lebarge; and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 29, 2020, at 2 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel.   Burial will follow at the Fellowship Cemetery in Warren.  Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Curtis Holmes, Randy Holmes, Justin Holmes, Aaron Holmes, Colt Kelley, and Rusty Homes.
