Jerry Edward Wilson, 85, of Woodville, TX, passed away on the morning of Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Born in Pasadena, Texas, on January 7, 1941, to Geraldine Ferguson and Edward Wilson, Mr. Wilson lived in the Houston area many years and settled on the Steinhagen Lake with his wife of 66 years in 2014.
After attending Pasadena High School, Mr. Wilson worked for his father’s tree business then drove a dump truck. He was one of many to help with the building of the Astrodome in Houston.
Shortly after, Mr. Wilson started his own construction company that he ran in Houston from 1963 to 2012. He worked primarily in the River Oaks, Memorial, and surrounding areas. Mr. Wilson loved being on the job site working with his crews.
After retirement, he enjoyed fishing on the Angelina and Neches Rivers and Steinhagen Lake. When he wasn’t fishing, he enjoyed driving around on the gator with wife Yvonne and their dog, Peg. They spent their time sitting on the porch reminiscing and telling stories, listening to the birds, and talking with friends and neighbors.
He fought a courageous battle against prostrate cancer finishing radiation treatments just over two weeks prior to his passing. He was determined to fight despite losing the love of his life in July of 2025.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his daughter, Tina Crosby (Rodney) and son Jerry Wilson, Jr. (Gina), of Cypress, TX; grandchildren, Cody, Brandon, and Cameron Crosby; Tamara Jenkins (David); Jonathan Nuncio (Emily); Justin and Jaidyn Wilson, several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
