Jay Eugene West, 63, of Trinity passed away December 28, 2023.
Born in Beaumont, Texas to Eugene and Thelma West, he lived in Trinity for the past two years. Prior to living in Trinity, he lived in Fort Worth for fifteen years having moved there from Ottawa, KS. He was a contractor for Dillard’s where he traveled with many friends working and enjoying the different areas of the United States. Jay loved to fish, play the guitar and spend time with family at get togethers and reunions. But his love was his grandchildren who he adored and loved with his whole heart. He also believed in the young doctors and nurses who he claimed knew more about the modern medicine than the older doctors and nurses.
Jay was preceded in death by his father, Eugene West.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Thomas West; mother, Thelma Kotz West of Colmesneil; daughters, Laurie Munoz and husband, David of Redland, CA and Emily West of Trinity; grandchildren, Lilly, Luke and Levi; siblings, Lynn West and wife, Danielle of League City, Scott West of Jasper, Ladale Graham and husband, Randy of Woodville, Chris West of College Station, Jeff West and wife, Tamra of Lake Jackson and Gabriel West and wife, April of Conroe; and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 10 am the Riley Funeral Home in Woodville, Texas. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 6 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.
