Jana Lee Puntes

Jana Lee Puntes, 42, of Spurger, TX, passed away on November 3, 2023, in Silsbee, Texas. Jana was born on July 28, 1981, in Nederland, TX, to her loving parents, Lucy and Albert Puntes. 

Jana had a vibrant personality and a wide range of interests. She graduated from Spurger High School in 1998 before attending Southern Virginia University in Buena Vista, VA, where she obtained two degrees. During her time at the university, she not only excelled academically but also played softball and even reached the championships. Jana had a curious spirit and explored various career paths, utilizing her degrees in offices and plants, and obtaining different certifications in electrical and construction trades. She even had a stint as a professional horse rider. Jana had a deep love for animals and worked as an animal control officer.

Softball was one of Jana's passions, and she enjoyed playing the sport as well as being an umpire. She also found joy in horseback riding, both for leisure and competition. Jana's zest for life and her adventurous nature made her a beloved member of her community.

She was preceded in death by her father, Albert Puntes, as well as her grandparents, Harris and Alice Puntes, and Mooney and Jennie V Hicks.

Jana will be dearly missed by her surviving family members, including her mother Lucy Puntes, sister, Johna Creamer, brother-in-law Kevin Creamer, nephew Colt Creamer, and great-nieces Tinley and Teagan Creamer. As well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. The loss of Jana will leave a void in their lives that can never be filled.

Jana Lee Puntes touched the lives of many with her vibrant personality, her love for sports and animals, and her adventurous spirit. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Life visitation will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 5 - 7 pm at Riley Funeral Home.
