James Michael Brady was born on January 11, 1942, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. Mr. Brady passed at age 79 in Beaumont, Texas on June 12, 2021.
A longtime resident of Tyler County, in the Warren area, his life was one dedicated to service – both to his Lord and to his family. As a lifelong non-denominational evangelist and minister of God’s Word, he preached his first sermon at the age of 15. He later joined the U.S. Navy in September 1960. He was a graduate of Arizona Bible College, class of ’64.
He was a student of the Bible throughout his entire life and was a prayer warrior.
Mr. Brady possessed an uncommon and gentle ease of spirit, and his kindness and wholesome ways were clear and apparent to all who met him. His fun-loving nature was spelled out with his beautiful, ever-present smile, and will be missed by his family and friends, until all are reunited again, on the blessed heavenly shore.
He was a true gentleman who loved the simple pleasures afforded in this life and the light of the lives of his beloved daughters, as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved to no end. In the words of a hymn he loved, he had “old-fashioned grace” and now is residing in an “old-fashioned place.”
He married Wanda June Brady in 1964, and to their union was born four daughters, Lewanna McDevitt, Lisa Brady, Mary Howle and Ruth Talley. He is also survived by his mother Arline Brown of Huntington Beach, California, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was reunited with his father James Abraham Brady and sister Shirley Miller on June 12.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday, June 18 at Trinity Assembly of God in Woodville.
