Henry David “Boosie” Daniels, 70, was taken from us suddenly on March 5, 2021 in Conroe, Texas. David was born in Woodville, Texas on October 5, 1950 to Obie Lee and Grace (Broom) Daniels.
David was a retired steelworker, an avid motorcycle rider, and domino player. He was most proud of his work with Steelworkers Local Union 8923, his organizing efforts across Texas and Louisiana, testifying before the U.S. Congress on labor issues, and negotiating a contract that was modeled in other unions across the country.
David is survived by his wife of 32 years, Susan Cogar-Daniels, and was the proud and loving father of Margaret Linton Daniels, Kaitlin Gail Daniels, Kathleen Grace Pruett, Jeffrey Keith Daniels, and preceded in death by Daniel Cyrus Daniels. David was also a proud grandfather to Harrison Allen Daniels and Etta Grace Pruett. He is survived by his siblings, Melda Jane McCann, Barbara Ann Durham, Obie Nick Daniels, Pitser Daniels, and Dorothy Grace Butler.
David was a larger than life, prince among men, whose love of storytelling will live on in his children and whose words of wisdom and love of life was an inspiration to everyone he met.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, March 11, 2021, at 11 am at the Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2021 from 5 pm until 7 pm at the funeral home.
