George Guy Yates

George Guy Yates, 79, of Colmesneil passed away June 4, 2021.

Born in Scurry, Texas to Willie and Jennie Yates, he lived in Colmesneil for many years.  He was a retired diesel mechanic and truck driver.  He was devoted to his family and loved them dearly.

George was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Jennie Yates; two wives, Sherryl K. Yates and Bobbie D. Yates.

He is survived by his loving sister, Mary Hawkins; step-sons, Tim Walton and Bob Walton; and many nieces and nephews who he helped raise.

Graveside service will be held Thursday, June 10, 2021, at 1 pm at the Colmesneil City Cemetery with Brother John Bunker officiating.  Visitation will begin at 12 noon at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
