Fred Edward Nolan, 94, passed away July 16, 2021 peacefully unto his Lord and Savior.
Born December 29, 1926 in Fred, Texas to G. W. Nolan and Ella Yawn Nolan, he lived in Tyler County for many years. Fred served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a carpenter, in the oil field and foreman at M & J Fertilizer in Winnie. But most importantly, he served the Lord by preaching the Word of God throughout his entire lifetime. He taught Sunday School for 42 years, preached and evangelized where needed, sang and ministered in nursing homes winning many souls for the Lord. This kind and gentle soul will be missed by his loving family and friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, G. W. and Ella Nolan; first wife, Lillie Nolan and son, Bryan Nolan; sister, Gladys Bouse of Winnie,
He is survived by his loving wife, Nettie Nolan of Edna; daughters, LaSonya Nolan of Fannett and Paughnee White of Woodville; bonus children, Julius, Rhonda, Richard, James, Charlene, Cheryl and Celeste; grandsons, Christopher Fontenot, Michael Fontenot, Derick Nolan and Keith Nolan; seventeen bonus grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2021, at 2 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor George Kutach officiating. Burial will follow at the Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred, Texas. Visitation will begin at 1 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Fontenot, Michael Fontenot, Derick Nolan, Keith Nolan, Julius Stastny, Richard Stastny, James Stastny and John Gerdes.
