Frank Raymond Gilbert, Jr.

Frank Raymond Gilbert, Jr., 84, of Cypress passed away October 17, 2021.

Born in Houston, Texas to Frank and Helen Gilbert, he graduated from Milby High School in Houston.  He was the first graduate of Milby High School to be accepted to Rice University and later attended the University of Texas.  He began his industrial career at Diamond Supply and Industrial Power Transmission Company and went on to manage the company.  He later became an officer of Southern Belting for a few years.

Joining his longtime business partner, Brent, they opened Ranger Conveying & Supply Co., Inc. in Houston in 1983.  Raymond was active in the company until 2008 when he retired.  His mechanical knowledge was an incredible gift.  He mentored many people over the years in the industry.  Even after his retirement his legacy lived on with the company opening three more locations.    He was the kind of person who was always concerned with others and a really good friend to all he met. 

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Helen Gilbert; sisters, Sue Barker and Jeanine Clark and a brother –in-law, Bill Clark.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Gilbert and Larry Gilbert; brother-in-law, Jim Barker and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11 am at Mt. Hope Cemetery on FM 1745, Chester, Texas 75936.

The family would like to thank the caregivers over the last seven years that have diligently taken care of him, Rico Ascencio, the entire Krauss family and the Village Green Alzheimer’s Center for the last 10 months.
