Eva Lane Stanley

Eva Stanley, 77, of Hemphill formerly of Town Bluff, passed away December 26, 2022.

Born in Eupora, MS to Calvin Lane and Lorene Love Lane, she lived in Town Bluff for many years before retiring to Hemphill.  Eva was a RN for the Tyler County Hospital for over 30 years.  During her years at the hospital, she taught at the Tyler County Hospital School-Nursing and later became the Director for the nursing school.  Eva influenced many a student at the nursing school to further their education in not only the nursing field but in the medical field in various degrees.  Her influence, teaching, and love of the nursing field has bettered not only the students she taught but the residence of Tyler County by making sure that the medical field was well equipped with nurses.  Eva loved her family and cared deeply for each one.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Calvin and Lorene Lane; siblings, Frank Lane, Sr. George Lane and Louise Williamson and a great grandchild, Brylee Stanley.

She is survived by her loving husband, Erasmus “PeeWee” Stanley of Hemphill; children, Jamie Lane and wife, Brenda of Fred, Caitlin Brumley and husband, Chris of Many, LA and Kendrick Stanley and wife, Leslie of Colmesneil; grandchildren, Austin, Toni, Gavin, Ashton, Brittany, Nathaniel, Lindee, Cherie and Andrea; great grandchildren, Shyanne, Gabriel, Brentlee, Brilee, Stetson S, Kaydance, Ayla, Hunter, Noah, Gavin, Jr., Kenlee, Laiklyn, Paisley, Todd, Emma and Steston B; sister and best friend, May Ann Hendricks; sisters-in-love, Brenda Stanley, Mary Fontenot and Vickie Messer; and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 3 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 5 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Gavin Stanley, Austin Stanley, Chris Brumley, Jamie Lane, Ken Stanley and Daniel Welch.
