Esther Beatrice Gill, 80, of Woodville, passed away August 10, 2021. She was born February 2, 1941 in Doucette, Texas to Erskin Blackmon and Bertha Scott. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses and remained faith full all the way to the end. In her earlier years, she worked as a licensed cosmetologist, she loved doing hair. She also loved being a caretaker of people, her family and loved ones, following the example of Jesus Christ. Esther loved talking about Jehovah, always witnessing to ones who would come to her home. She loved singing for the Lord and enjoyed the listening to the ballads of Sam Cooke and Johnny Taylor.
Esther is survived by her husband of 52 years, Matthew Gill, Jr.; children, Vivian Miller, Cathy Gambrell, Marcus Dion Gill and wife Felicia, Melvin Todd Gill, Matthew Gill, III, Deborah Hill and husband, Garland and Tammy Curtis and husband, Eddie; grandchildren, Shabaka, Jamari, Victoria, Gabrielle, Destiny, Jamal, Keeon, Kierra, Marcus, Jr.; great grandchildren, Lilliana, A’Don; Ava J., Malachi, Ka’phi; She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A visitation will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 10am until 12 pm. Zoom call will be held at 1 pm
