Ernest Haynes, Sr. Obituary

Ernest Michael Haynes, Sr., 70, of Warren passed away September 24, 2021.

Born August 18, 1951 in Woodville, Texas to Robert and Nerine Haynes, he lived in Warren for many years.   Ernest was a hard worker having owned and operated his own business, Haynes Tree Service, for many years.  Through owning his own tree service and all the hardships that it entailed, he still made all the time in the world for his loving wife, Melissa.

Ernest loved anything outdoors especially hunting, fishing and taking his family on adventures to the lake or beach.  He always had with him Pawpaw’s boy who made every step that he made.  His passion for building and racing dirt track cars put him in a world where friends were family and always had each other’s backs.  He always had a smile and hug to greet you giving him the nickname, Smilin’ Ernest.  He was an amazing man who will be missed.

Ernest was preceded in death by his father, Robert Sydney Haynes and a brother, Robert Wayne Haynes.

He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Haynes of Warren; mother, Nerine Saxton Dickerson of Lufkin; sister, Martha Owens; children, Dakota Hutto of Warren; Shannon Moore and husband, Burt Moore of Fred, Bubba Haynes and wife, Sarah of Fred, Nikki McInnis and husband, Dwayne of Silsbee and Jessica Howard and husband, David of Silsbee; grandchildren, Pawpaw’s Boy Hudson of Warren, Taylor, Troy and Gracie of Fred, Jana, BJ and Diana of Fred, Colton and Brittnee of Silsbee, Faith, Destiny, Korbin and Kayden of Silsbee; and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at 2 pm at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Woodville, Texas.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12 pm until 2 pm at the funeral home.
