Elizabeth Jeanette Burks, 80, of Warren passed away January 2, 2022.
Born and raised Nacogdoches, Texas to Ellis and Lottie Cook, she married the love of her life, Billy Burks on February 14, 1959. In 1971, they moved their family to Warren, Texas where they raised their boys. Billy and Jeanette owned and operated ACE Grocery in Warren. Even though she knew nothing of the game, she enjoyed going to football games cheering on her team, the Warren Warriors. Jeanette loved her family and loved making memories with her grandkids and great grandkids.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis Cook and Lottie Christian Cook; husband, Billy Burks; and brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her loving boys, Rex Burks and wife, Terri of Simms, Richard Burks and wife, Meredith of White Oak, Rocky Burks and wife, Gloria of Warren, and Rodney Burks and wife, Kendra of Vidor; grandchildren, Alyson and Caston Haggard of White Oak, Zach and Tristen Burks of New Boston, Leah and Frank Clift of White Oak, Jamie and Tylan Murray of Celeste, Kayla and Cade Palmore of Simms, Joshua Burks of Warren, Espyn Burks of Vidor, Jordyn Burks of Vidor, and Gracyn Gilbreath of Vidor; great grandchildren, Lane, Luke, Ruston and Jynson Haggard of White Oak, Kooper Hilton, Kipton and Kyle Burks of New Boston, Branson and Baylee Clift of White Oak and Emmie Murray of Celeste; sister, Frances Campbell and numerous other family members and friends.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 12 noon at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Stagg officiating. Visitation will begin at 11 am at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 4 pm at the Strong Cemetery in Henderson, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rex Burks, Richard Burks, Rocky Burks, Rodney Burks, Zach Burks and Joshua Burks.
